Robert Plant has booked gigs from time to time in tiny places using a pseudonym, so as not to cash in on his name.
Like father, like son.
Last night I saw Logan Plant, Robert's 30-year-old son, fronting the band Sons of Albion. They'd just made their U.S. debut at SXSW.
And the reason I say he's not cashing in on his name is because he has really played down the fact that he's related to his father. No reference at his Myspace page even to his last name. Talk about not riding on coattails.....
Logan's a personable guy, with a shy quality about him. As a performer, he's really hypnotic. Obviously, talent is genetic. But he's not tying to imitate his father.
I'll be sitting him down for an interview tomorrow.
