On this day in 1968, Jimmy Page and manager Peter Grant followed up on the recommendation from singer Robert Plant that they check out drummer John Bonham at a Tim Rose concert. Bassist and photographer Chris Dreja, who was traveling with Page and Grant, said the three of them were blown away by Bonham and he was a must-have for Page's new band.
